Two Institute Sub-Committees Formed
The Asbestos Management Institute is pleased to announce that a Membership Sub-Committee and Technical Sub-Committee have been formed following initial meetings in early September.
The Membership Sub-Committee has elected its members with Christian Jones as chair.
The Terms of Reference, that is the sub-committee’s purpose and objectives, were discussed, with the action of producing a draft document for approval at the next meeting. Also, going forward the sub-committee will be the final stage of a membership application, including clarifying the appropriate grade of membership.
So far this year the Institute has welcomed eleven new members, including three Fellows.
The Membership Sub-Committee will be holding its next meeting on 25th October 2022.
The Technical Sub-Committee has elected its members with Robert Burley as chair.
The Terms of Reference, that is the committee’s purpose and objectives, were discussed, with the action of producing a draft document for approval at the next meeting.
Also, discussed were some questions/issues which need clarification, and that it would be appropriate for some to be raised at the next Asbestos Network Technical Working Group meeting. These included man outside an enclosure, communication between those inside and outside an enclosure, and the provision of paperwork from analysts to licensed asbestos removal contractors.
The Technical Sub-Committee will be holding its next meeting on 11th November 2022.
