HSE and UKAS discuss The Analysts’ Guide
Following the publication of the second edition of ‘Asbestos: The Analysts’ Guide’, the HSE and UKAS hosted a webinar last week, a recording of which is now available.
The HSE relayed the importance of the revised Guidance in support of its implementation. Also, given the inextricable link between Regulation and Accreditation in asbestos testing, UKAS clarified the process of how changes to existing test and sampling methodologies need to be demonstrated by Laboratories, in order to ensure the continuity of their accreditation.
The webinar was aimed at laboratories that are currently accredited for Asbestos sampling and Testing and Surveying for Asbestos in Premises.
During the webinar details of the transition process were provided (as shown below), with the transition due to be completed by 1st February 2022.
